Frequently Asked Questions
We work with employers, Employment Services Providers, RTOs and Community Support organisations. After an initial consultation regarding your learners’ needs, we organise access to our Skills Explorer platform.

As a trainer, it can be very difficult to manage and provide LLND assistance to learners with different needs. Skills Explorer can be configured to an individual’s needs, and then monitored and managed to motivate individuals to increase their literacy and employability.
Offering a class, 'special sessions' or a 'plug and play' option is not the answer to literacy problems in our experience. They are all too much like school, which didn't work in the first place. Our flexible, blended options increase confidence, capacity and capability to increase literacy which increases employment opportunities!
We do a pre-assessment, identify the gaps in literacy and digital skills, and allocate the resources to fill that gap. Once the learner is active, we monitor, manage, and maintain contact with the learner and Team Leader to build engagement and support completion.
We take care of the management for you and the learner! We prepare and allocate the resources, monitor engagement, manage progression and provide regular reports on individuals and groups.
Different learning needs and styles take different amounts of time. We suggest short 20 to 30 minute sessions daily, rather than long periods of time where information is less likely to be absorbed.
Our minimum membership duration is one month, and the learner has access to the resources 24/7.
The pre-assessment is our first measure. Learning supports are then allocated, each with checks and measures along the way. Instant feedback is provided to the learner highlighting what was done well and what needs work.
This is followed by a completion report for the learner and the sponsor (employer, RTO, employment organisation etc) receives progress reports on the learning engagement and results.
Each learner has a view on their dashboard showing achievements and each team leader has a view of the progress and engagement of their entire group.
As an employer, you may be aware of the low literacy levels of some of your employees but don’t know how to find the time to train them or how to implement these trainings. This is where we can help. Providing proven assessment and training solutions that can be tailored to their needs.
In addition, by developing the literacy levels of employees, businesses and organisations benefit from:
- Improved written, numeric and comprehension skills
- Reduced safety or procedural breaches due to better understanding
- Increased self-esteem and confidence of team
- Greater ability to promote from within the business
- Fewer errors
Prior to LLND, the term LLN was traditionally used. LLN stands for Language, Literacy and Numeracy, whilst LLND expands upon these with the addition of Digital literacy. These four areas are regarded as vital for adults to be successful in modern employment.
Both LLND and LLN are often seen as assessment tools however, the assessment alone does not advance a learner’s skill set in these areas. This is why we developed Skills Explorer, to not only assess the learner but also to use that information to build tailored programs to support them.
Digital literacy is vital to employability! Signing in, completing timesheets, accessing payslips, banking - there are so many situations where the employee needs to be able to use digital tools.
Skills Explorer offers resources to increase digital literacy so that the skills are current and applicable - but explained in a simple and interactive way through short micro-learning sessions.
We train people to use the computer and build their digital skills – we want learners to explore new skills - building LLND capacity.
Sure - If required - we suggest that we provide you with a workshop to demonstrate how Skills Explorer works! We will identify one or two from the group to be the local ‘Buddy’ to help!
We start with the basics – building confidence ‘I can do that – it is easy!’...and then increase the levels gradually!
We have over 1,000 resources available - added to regularly, so we can allocate courses to suit.
We are experienced LLN and LLND practitioners with many years of experience. From very remote communities to major cities, we bring our experience, knowledge, and skills to you by planning the learning paths appropriate to the learner.
This includes time allocation, and knowledge checks (assessments are non-accredited but mapped around competencies). We control the learning for you and provide regular reports to support engagement and progress.
